Concept, Design, Development
In classes and workshops I often get questions about where ideas come from. That’s a big topic for a class which isn’t explicitly about that question so I started building a series of tools that quickly come up with ideas and illustrate the power of creating unexpected associations; an exploration of focused randomization applied to the creative process. This thesis/project generator is a work-in-progress and it’s intended for students, artists and designers who have the itch to make something but don’t know where to begin. The first draft was a simple spreadsheet and that data has since been brought into an application made using vibe-coding.
Use the pre-populated values or edit each drop down to customize your own language so all the statement you generate align with your vision and values. Lock the words you like and keep randomizing or select directly from the drop downs. All your edits are saved locally in your browser.
Early iterations
The generator above focused on concept statements while a previous version was a code-driven solution for creating more emotional and evocative titles for projects.
